INTRODUCTION

The success of a business and the success of its community is intertwined. The Aliceville Area Chamber of Commerce is committed to helping all members thrive while building a stronger, healthier community. In addition to providing the information and resources businesses need to succeed, the Chamber is a powerful advocate in all levels of government on issues that matter to our members.

Our members represent all sizes and kinds of businesses – their trades are as diverse as their viewpoints. We are dedicated to promoting the economic, civic, commercial,  cultural, industrial, and educational interests of the Aliceville area. We work daily to make this region a great place to live and do business.

The Aliceville Area Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to creating and maintaining a business-friendly climate so everyone who wants to live here may enjoy and prosper.

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Aliceville Area Chamber of Commerce is to promote economic growth in the Aliceville area and provide its citizens with a greater quality of life for the overall improvement of their community.  To ensure this mission, the Chamber of Commerce will attempt to be responsive to the needs and concerns of the people of Aliceville and Pickens County.

What Does the Chamber Do?

The Chamber promotes the community as a whole to encourages people to conduct  business in our area.  The Chamber also promotes its individual business members.  The following is a list of some of the Chamber activities.  Take a couple of minutes to read the following list and see if you don’t agree that these things are important to your business.

 

  • Respond to inquiries about where to buy specific products.
  • Answer questions about the reliability of a business.
  • Respond to inquiries about the area.
  • Distribute brochures about businesses.
  • Answer questions about area events and organizations.
  • Create publications about the area.
  • Help find employees when possible.
  • Influences governmental policy by keeping abreast of governmental  activities primarily local, but also state and federal changes that might positively or negatively affect your business.

If you live, work, or do business in our area, then the economic viability and livability of this area must be of concern to you, because if these decline, then business declines.  Therefore, it is essential for the business community to be part of the decision-making processes that will impact on our area.  By banding together to undertake aggressive action programs that are in the best interest of the total are, both business and the area prosper.  This is the Chamber of Commerce… BUT…it takes two – The Chamber and You!
