Come play gold year round!  Are you looking for a place to retire?  Does fishing, hunting, camping and boating interest you?  If so, you’ve come to the right place.  (http://www.westalabamahuntingandfishingtrail.com/)

The 234 mile-long Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway forms ten lakes covering 44,000 acres of land.  One of the finest of these lakes, Lake Aliceville, with its 8,300 acres of water is right here.  The lakes have all been stocked with smallmouth, largemouth and stripped bass, bream, channel fish and white perch.  Gainesville Lake, just below Aliceville, covers another 6,400 acres and is filled with bass. This lake has 80 miles of shore line.

There are 750 class A campsites along the Tenn-Tom Waterway with dozens of these within miles of Aliceville.  Pickensville Landing, Cochrane Landing and Campgrounds and Marina Cove Marine provide easy access to the waterway with areas to launch boats.

Bring you friends, group or family and experience Shark Tooth Creek Outdoor Adventures.  This awesome adventure runs through a portion of the vast “Sipsey Wilderness”.  The most popular trip consists of 11 winding miles down the beautiful Sipsey River, which features strong current and some small rapids, not to mention breathtaking scenery.

If fishing, quail hunting, skeet shooting, trail riding on horseback or riding in a horse drawn wagon is your “cup of tea” then Cameron’s Quail Preserve can fill your needs.  They are located on the banks of the Tennessee-Tombigbee River.  If you just want to come for the day or if you prefer to stay several days the Cameron’s can accommodate you with a 6,000 sq. ft lodge that has nine bedrooms with private baths.  If you are looking for a great time and great food, Cameron’s Lodge is the place to be.

And check out the Aliceville Museum.  Aliceville operated a World War II German prisoner of war camp which housed up to 6,000 German prisoners at its peak.  These prisoners have maintained an interest in Aliceville and have come back two times for reunions.  The museum houses hundreds of documents, works of art and artifacts collected by townspeople and Germans.
